Midnight Mayhem

Truth be told, I do not know for sure,

Where their friendship ends and love begins anew.

The clock strikes 12 and a tale emerges untold,

Dreams take flight and secrets unfold.

Their friendship smells disaster and their love even more,

But their passion for each other burns bright like the earth’s core.

Owls hoot softly and stars twinkle above,

In this wondrous night mayhem unfolds.

The moon casts an ethereal glow,

And time itself stills to let these star-crossed lovers elope.

The witching hour it is for sure,

For I see two silhouettes gliding across the fjord.

Hand in hand they dodge with ease,

The steep rocky cliffs jutting into the treacherous sea.

Hand in hand they laugh with glee,

Two souls entwined, wild and free.

Hand in hand they face what may come,

In the heart of midnight their journey has just begun.
